Hi mates,

As you've probably read on my homepage I have finally arrived in Sydney, Australia. The long flight and the good friendships I had to leave behind in South-Africa are hopefully all worth it. I have explored Sydney yesterday with one of the girls I am staying with (Rowena). Seen Harbour bridge, the Opera House, the Botanical Gardens, the shopping centres, and met the energetic people that shape Sydney in to such a beautiful city.

Today basically consisted of an orientation program. This program helps me to benefit the most from the country of Australia. The organisation is called AIFS and up till now they have shown enormous contempt in helping me out with various things. From finding a job to setting up a bank account. AIFS seems to have the experience and knowledge to provide a decend assistance for a big group of backpackers/student.

Just now I have set up a bank account at Westpac Australia. Donations are always welcome so my banking account number is: ........ No I'm kiddin'...
I have also started looking for a flat/apartment in the centre of Sydney and I have found some nice places where I might be able to stay.

Spending christmas and new year without my family and friends is probably the most difficult for me this year but I am afraid I can hardly complain. I hope that Australia can provide me with the same wonderful, intriguing, and worthwile experiences as I have had in Stellenbosch.
