SO friday i was up and off to work at 645 with the plumber. We set off and just had some basic chit chat on the way. We stopped off for a coffee after about an hour and then carried on. Just over an hour after that we pulled into some field where he thort we were going. We were going to a 'station' which is basically a huggeee farm which has several houses dottted around on the acres and acres of land so its quite off the beaton track. Turns out we were in the wrong place and eventually got there. The fields wee full of cotton and on the way down the longgggg drive to the house the were big bails of it, around 200-300, each one costing over $3500!! I think malcome needs to get himself out here! We landed and started emptying a utility room as thats were the new pipes were going and also a new shower head and taps. I was simply passing dean the tools all day and holding timber and pipe whilst he cut it. It was ok as i learnt some new tools! The guy was a reall aussy hilbilly and had a korean wife and two boys. Also staying there was he cousen, husband and child. All seemed abit 'funny' if u ask me! The weather was absolutly beautiful and prob got to around 18oc whick isnt bad for winter! Mid way thru the day the guy asked dean to fix something externally so we had to pop into the local town (20mins away) to get a piece. Whilst there dean bought me lunch which was filling (2sausage roll, chips and coke) and then we headed back to finish up. We asked thbe guy to turn the water back on so that we could chek everything but it comes from so far away that it took around 30-40mins for it to get back on properly, and even then the pressure of it was rubbish! Around 3pm we packed up and left. The night before a job had been cancelled which we were meant to do that day which turned out to be a good job as we would have been there till gone 7 if they hadnt! We got back around half4 and then i just grabbed a bath had some tea and hit the hey. We did call in at deans house on the way back, which is massive. He built it himself with a builder friend and u can tell, its even got electric gates that open when he approaches! He said there would be some more work next week which was a bonus!
Saturday i was up early as we had to go to the hostel to pick up a car for one of us to drive. We then got to work at the pumpkin factory for 8. There was me and 3 otheres from the house. This time the boss mario was there doing the general boss thing, telling us one thing, and then another and then another so we were abit baffled what was what! About 2hours in he went and left us with nick, the fork lift driver. This was good as like i said the other day his philosophy is 'what nick doesnt no doesnt hurt him' which meant we got a 40-45min break instead of 30!! This was nice as the weather was the same as the day before and so it meant we could see some of the sun! Its relativly cold in the shed compared to out in the sun but its nice being out in the open for a change! Mario came back later on and let us go at 430 so we headed back. I got back, popped to the shops and then made tea and was in bed asleep before 830! I was abit gutted as alot of the house were going for a night out in the town but i could as i had work. They obviously didntg think of that as they rolled in half cut shouting around the house in the early hoours this morning!!
Today, sunday and i was back at the pumkin factory with the guys. The mornings are so so cold its like winter at home! We got there and got on sorting our pumpkins into piles; big small or medium. Today was good as mario wasnt there much so was quite laid back, i even got told to 'slow down, mario isnt here' by nick! The weather was even hotter today, i think as there was no wind. Lunch again was nice as we sat in the sun, that half hoyr seems to go so much quicker which is funny! We then finished at half4 again and are waiting to find out what work there is tomoz...

sheila Glad you getting lots of work but do you get a day off and are you allowed to turn work down? Quite exciting that you dont have to do the same thing all the time - sorting pumpkins sounds a bit like counting roasting bags! Keep up with the blog cos we are all missing you x x x
lydia "hit the hey" hehe xx
