3rdBarcelona to Valencia
At 8am we were waiting to get onto the Busabout bus, when the man form the front desk come out and confronted us to ask where was our door key. As mentioned before, we didnt actually pay for accomodation the last night. So i said, 'our friend was bring it down'. Once he had dissappeared we ran and hid like children around the corner, but once the bus rocked up we were in the line when he returned to ask us the same question. At this moment i though we were in the s***, but with my quick thinking i said 'im sorry but i lost it'. To everyones supries he relpied 'then you need to pay 2 euro for loosing the card'. Hahahah. We handed over the coin and spent the next hour laughing.
We arrived in Valencia to a pre-booked hostel. May i add this was the best hostel that we had been in to date. The biggest and best equiped kitchen out, an awsome roof desk and a TV. Besides the absent airconditining in the rooms it still takes the best hostel award.
4th Valencia was hot, stinking hot. But even so we ventured out to see the sites. Adam, Elyse and myself hired bikes and rode the Jardin de Tavria, which was a public park/sports area which was converted from a dry creek bed. It streched the length of the old city until it met the sea. We rode for 3hrs until we hit the fine white sandy beach, and palm-lined avenues. The water wasnt so clean and the fine sand porved to be very anyoying but a quiet pleasant afternoon. We visted a supermarket and brought ingridents to make a cheap monsterious sandwich, wilce we sat on the side of the road. We definalty got so funny looks that day. Ham, tomartos, creamed cheese, roated capciums, lettuce, and even carrot. It was devine. We rode home in time to have a siesta. I was being to get a cold so sleep was good for me. That night we returend to the beach in hope of a beach fiesta. But no luck. I was kinda glad because it gave me and excuse to have an earlie night.
5th Another hot 35 degree day, so not much planned. Just spent the day on the roof desk with my tissues and water bottle trying to bounce back. We visited the fruit and veg markets and found some scales, yes we wighted ourselfs only to confim what we already knew. We had put on weight, 5kg to be precise. Slightly depressing. That night ventured out to a Lation bar and called it an early night while the others stayed out to play.
6th Yet another slow start to the day. However began the day with sit-ups and fruit. We visite dthe Museum of fine art, which was not so intersting. Gernerally because majority of the art reflects christianity and because iam not religious this has no relavance to me. However we didi visit Catedral de Santa Maria, which apparently holds the chalice said to be the Holy Grail. We didnt pay to entre the catedral, but we did climb the 204 stairs for the tower to see 360 degree views of Valencia. That night Adam, Lisa, Elyse and myself treated ourselves to dinner. Once again had to try the paella. The meal was slightly dissapointing, but the company was great so it tured out to be a great night.
