Hello everyone,

well its our second day of our travels and beijing is certinatly an experience. We arrived yesterday after a long 10 hour plane journey and arrived at our hostel which is nice and clean rooms are good very basic we are sharing a room with a swedish guy who is very fun and i think abit of an alcaholic as he was drinking straight vodka at around 12 which was funny we also had a german girl in our room but she left this morning so waiting to find out who will arrive tonight!

When we arrived in Beijing we went for a walk into the city centre the walk is only 10 minutes but our hostle is down a smelly back road which is full of street stalls, shops restaurants but from all the smells you feel sick before you get the chance to go anywhere is really rank! The chinnese people are funny they are amazed by the english and they like take photos off us and for some odd reason they walk around in there pajamas and slippers!!! very amuzing!

still tryin to get used to the culture here is soooo different and bit shockng. the actual city centre is lovely very very busy yesterday we went to tienamen square and saw a few temples. the streets were clean but you cant cross the road you have to go underground so a 2 minute walk accoss the huge streets takes about 10/15 then you get lost its really annoying! Today were are hoping to go and see summer palace which is a hours drive from beijing then i would like to stay out of the city as much as possible. There is so much to see here and its soooooo cheap a bottle of beer is about 40p!!! and food which you think is expensive cause its about 13yan but thats only 1pound so its great!

The weather is great very hot today and sunny good to prepare ourself with the 36 degrees in bangkok on sunday!

Anyways just a short post as we still have 5 more days to explore i will write more during the week and photos will be added by satuday!
