sharon's ventures down under
hi all,
Well since you last heard from me, the weather has got better, its no longer raining, and it s been sunny everyday, even if a bit chilly. Its not that cold tho, some of the locals seem to think its really cold, ie they are all wearing heavy winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves and I am walking around in a t shirt. I have been rather busy over the last 4 days, now i have got all the boring things done I have managed to fit in some sight seeing. Monday I visited the opera house,a nd had a guided tour inside. Its an amazing structure - there are no beams inside, and all set up for the accoustics - they dont even have microphones because the sound is so good. On tuesday I visited Toronga zoo which was nice and then i went up the sky tower at 9.30m at night, which is always an interesting sight. Sydney looks different by night! Then on wednesday, I went whale whatching. Wow that was an experience. The whales were massive, we could see them from about 100m away but occasionally they would swim right up to the boat. They didnt jump but were comingout of the water a lot, they were quite rough with each other and were goijng really fast. Definately one of my highlights for sydney. I am going to the blue mountains tomorrow, so lets hope the weather is good for me. I check out of my hostel on sat and check into a hotel ready to pick up my contiki tour sat night. I am going to have a couple early nights as I am sure we will be partying again.
Anyway had best go for now.
Bye
Sharon
