For me being back on land has been a bitter sweet. I absolutely loved the experience and will definitely be partaking in future deliveries with Bruce. We left Maryland, my father and I, this afternoon and said our good byes to Bruce and potentially Tesoro. If she is bought during the annapolis boat show I will be thrilled for my dad, but a little piece of me will know that he is letting go of a dream, thus creating a little sadness. When I left you last the sailing had been perfect but the change in the weather is known to be extreme, that's for the Dylan fans. As we rounded Hatteras and enter the mouth of the Chesapeake bay we were hit by 25-30 knot winds from the north and 4-6 foot swells. This sustained for the next 32 hours, hence why I had little time to write, and the bitter part of sailing was felt. When all was said and done we docked in the sailaway marina at 6 this morning and as a whole had shared less than 10 hours sleep during the storm. Gotta love the life of a sailor man.
