The Trip of Dreams (part1)
(Written by Ads)
Well, we decided it was enough of Singapore, with all the shopping and expensive prices so we got a train up to Malaysia and into Kuala Lumpur. A 6 hour ride later and we had arrived at our next destnation. Outside the train station, we see two massive hotels, one a Hilton, and identically next to it Le Merridian, so we thought we would just see how much it was to stay a night at Le Merridian....lucky for us a Promotion, half priced room at only 50quid a night considering it was 5 Star and we had arrived in the late evening, we decide to take it. Swimming pool, lovely restaurants and our room on the 29th floor with a view all over the city (pictures will show it). Hot water, a toilet with weird buttons to press which cleans a certain behind area and finally a bath each of us could fit in (one at a time that is!!) Flat screen tv to watch the footy too - we thought we hit the jackpot of cheapest 5 star hotels - until the morning that is! We decided we needed laundry, so we chucked in our clothes ready for a next day delivery, when they returned wth them this is where it hurt the bank! Not only were the clothes all pressed, in celophane wrappers or boxes, the bill came to 502 RM which accounts to about 80 odd quid (near abouts)!!
So, after finally realising it wasn't such a cheap night there, it was straight onto the underground and finding a cheap place to stay - NO 5 Star hotels! Eventually we found a hotel in the Golden Triangle (near the main city centre) for about 12pound a night - between us! So I think its a few nights here before heading out of the city to the beaches of Penang for a few weeks (letting all our bank accoutns recover). Apart from that, we are all fine, enjoying traveling around new places and the weather is good. Hope that the UK weather isn't too cold, and we will keep you all updated for our next destination.
