(Written by John) Hey Guys, We arived in Bali on the 18th...first impressions werent took great...a bit of a t*** taxi driver took us to a place from the airport...we asked for one hotel we were recommended by a guy in Singapore...but he took us to another!! So we just told him where to go and got out and walked around some random dark alley ways..it was approaching midnight! A little scary but good experience i suppose,We found that there are so many hotels around...its poverty on the streets, and luxury hotels everywhere! So we are staying in a place called KUTA INN which is nice...3 beds, air con, and even a pool for about 12 pounds a night between the 3 of us...pretty cool! On our first day here we went to a local bar down the road and had a beer...we got chatting to a really nice Ozzy couple Jack and Diane both 23...This Jack dude is the biggest man ive seen...he is so fat its well funny...but he loves it...we have all since become good mates and he has invited us to stay with him when we are up in the north east of Australia...he has a boat etc and is a bar manager so said if we needed anything he'd look after us and take us out on fishing trips etc. Ok so ur probably thinking something like...jammy sods right...thats nothing, we also met an older couple and some of there friends...they are in the region of 40-50 years old and regularly visit bali, and have been coming here since 1980 when they went travelling for the 1st time...to cut a long story short we have got to know these guys really well too (Ozzys are so friendly and just constantly take the piss its wicked!) ...they live in Melbourne, and have asked us to stay with them for a while over xmas if we want to...the wife said she'd cook us a massive roast dinner too....the best bit is, that they are leaving just after xmas for a few days and said if we wanted to stay at there home and look after it we were more than welcome to!!! AND have their CAR!!!!!!!!!! haha what a nice touch! So as you can see we are being sorted out a treat at the moment and landing on our feet! Been out the last two nights on the piss which is so cheap!!!!!!!! Its not that busy because of the bombs last month...we are staying fairly near where they went off and have been to the place...its weird to think that so many people were killed here...its strange. The weather isnt great at the moment, rains quite a bit but now and again we are getting some seriously hot sun coming through...hoping the sun can stay out longer tomorrow as we are learning to surf in the morning...should be a laugh! We've been to an 'ozzy' style piss up which was quality, a massive table for 16 of us...had a well nice roast dinner buffet and a lot of very cheap local cocktails made with a lot of alcohol in them for about a quid each...these things were giant fish bowls full to the brim! Got chatting to a load of people and seem to have formed a big group..we all meet on the beach in the same spot and chill out which is cool. The plan for the coming week is to contiune partying hard, and then move on to the north where we can start doing some more scuba diving...apparently its well good in north bali for diving so that should be awesome! Well looking forward to that. Then i think we will get on a boat and travel around the Gilley Islands just off bali for a week or so, then return and spend another week on the white sandy beaches. Lovely job. There is a bungee jump not to far from us so we are thinking of checking that out soon, and also taking a trip to a water park for a day...beats working! The Lads
