J woke first, at quarter to eight, & after a small pause, the kids were allowed downstairs, to open their stockings. As well as a load of sweets & stationary, M was delighted with her Disney Princesses Rubik's cube, & j his Tin-Tin & Indiana Jones DVDs. The adults enjoyed a glass or two of champagne + OJ while watching the kids getting excited about all the things that Father Christmas had bought them!
For breakfast, we attacked the huge pile of leftovers from the previous days feast, plus a couple of large cups of coffee, to stave off the effects of such a late night!
After a very lazy morning, Susana drove us up to La Bufa, to meet up with Sofia, Josue, Rodrigo & Miguel, before taking Mark & Nicole to visit her God-daughter. At la Bufa, we watched a group of people going on the biggest / longest zip wire that we have ever seen, for an 800m flight over the valley. Next we were going to go to the museum, but it was closed, so we walked past the statues of General Villa, & the site of a famous battle in the Mexican revolution, to the Teleferico - to ride in the gondola for fabulous views of the city, far below (M$50 each, one way). After a brief stop at the bottom, we rode back up to the top of the hill, where L & the kids went on a "car-train" ride (M$10 each) while D walked back up to the statues, chatting with Miguel about the details of the battle.
We then all squeezed into Miguel's car, with all the kids squashed in the boot, & drove into town, only to find that the restaurant that we wanted to go to was closed. We headed back to Miguel's house for refreshments & were soon invited round to the other next door neighbour's house (Lorraina) for more food & beer! M played with some of Lorraina's daughters' dolls (which she was allowed to borrow for a few days), & D showed J how to pay Cluedo! After a couple of hours, we returned home (politely declining the offer of even more food!), for a quiet evening with the family.
