Woken at silly o'clock by thunder, and tremendous downpour (again!). Paddy knocked on door at 7.30 to tell us that there was a minibus to Kampot, leaving at 8.30.
Got up, packed & said our farewells to KKK, in the pouring rain!
Continued with torrential rain for the first half of the journey, then eased to sporadic showers. Stopped at Sre Ambrel Bridge for al-fresco lunch (bread rolls, cake & Pringles!), then on to Kampot in about 4 ½ hours.
Instantly surrounded by blokes offering Tuk-tuks, hostels and pretty much anything else! Walked (unaided) the 50m to the Cozy Elephant Hostel. $8 room, 2 beds, own bathroom, TV & DVD player, very tall ceiling! Booked 2 nights, and chatted to owner about day trip tomorrow.
Went for a walk around town, then stopped off for a cooling drink at the Epic Arts Café, which employs and supports deaf & disabled young people. Then to restaurant for tea: L - fish Amok; D: stir fried rice & seafood.
Back to room to watch "Corpse Bride" (Tim Burton animated film) on DVD & an early night.
