Southwestern Excursion
Our first stop was St. Louis. We arrived around 6:00 pm central time. Old Courthouse On the way in we bought tickets online to see the arch. We were scheduled to tour the arch at 8:05 so we had a couple of hours to look around the Old Courthouse. Standing in the center rotunda of the courthouse & looking up was impressive. It was painted in period colors of mauve & green. The Famous Dred Scott case was heard here. The Arch We walked over to the arch & had to walk a very different way than what had remembered. We we here years ago. Now there is construction all over on the surface & underground to remake the visitor area. We watched the movie on the construction of the arch in the 1960's & Robert remarked that he was surprised at the quality of the graphics from back then. Ha! It was pretty crowded in the arch being that it was a Saturday night & a Cardinals Baseball game just finished. We got in line & rode up to the top in our cute tram pod, looked around at the top then rode a tram pod back down. We walked back to the car along the river. Then made our way to our next stop.
