Hello, Mandy here.

We have arrived to the sun! Both of us are nursing colds from Rome and Barcelona but all has been forgotten now that we can walk around in shorts and thongs. Cadiz is supposedly the oldest town in Europe and we really like the old town. The hostel we stayed in was fantastic and we keep in touch with the staff who are a mix of antipodeans and north americans.

We decided to come here (because its the warmest place in Europe) and rent an apartment for a month so Gav could do some work on his photo portfolio and I could put in some serious time on my book. We also needed to unpack for a while and cook and play house .Gav looks great in an apron!

So, we found a place last week, just outside the Old Town and we love it!! Every morning we go for coffe on the beach then a run (because Mandy had got fat and Gav is jogging in sympathy for her cause) then stop at the market to buy fresh fish or meat and veges for lunch and dinner. The afternoon is spent working from home and then we struggle through some Spanish tv or go out for tapas late at night. We haven´t succumbed to afternoon siesta yet altho its tempting.

Mandy has started learning Spanish which is really really hard but it keeps the brain working. No one speaks English here and no one understands my Spanish yet but Gav backs me up with his excellent skills.
