Just a quick note. Left Alder do Chao tonight on the bus headed for Santarem, traveling with a Swiss girl. Met teenagers on the bus and ask for thier help finding internet in Santeram. Famous last words -- `Follow Us`. You would think I would know better by now (kayakers you know what I´m talking about). Off the bus down an unlit street, through an alley, through a back yard, around another corner and walla -- the internet cafe. Needless to say my heart was in my throat for a while and my Swiss friend was nearly in my pocket.

Will fly out of here at midnight, spend the early morn in the Manaus airport, and find a hostel when the sun comes up.

Primary objective for tomorrw will be to find a bar with satelite TV and the Super Bowl.

Depending on boat/plane schedules I may cut the Amazon part of the trip short and move on to Peru. Between the heat, bug bites, lack of sleep, and bad stomach I think I may have had enough.
