After brunch with the whole gang, Jessie and Sam went off to do their own thing and me, Nic, Isaac and Ben went off to find a tuktuk (or kipkip which I think is the name for the truck tuktuks) to take us to a waterfall, as since we arrived in Luang Prabang every tuktuk driver says... Waterfall?? So seemed like the thing to do.
Half way into the journey, Ben had a scare with his travel card so we had to go back, he'd lost it so had to cancel it. From then on Ben turned to the bank of Lisa Marfell, to avoid those nasty bank charges from his bank. After that was sorted we continued back on our way to the waterfall. The journey took about forty minutes. When we got there we had to get a riverboat along the Mekong. It was rocky and ridiculously close to the water surface, I felt like we were gonna capsize at any moment!
After a five min boat ride we made it to the waterfall, so beautiful!! We stripped off into our swimwear and hopped in. The water was so refreshing but the current was ridiculously strong and I struggled to wade through the water or even stand still. A few times if my feet left the floor I got pulled along with the current and almost fell off the waterfall face. Not stupidly high up but probably would've gotten a sore bum if I did fall. Luckily with Ben's help or not I managed to brace myself. (Note to self: don't wear a flimsy bikini because the current will try to peel it off you!) We also found a swing rope tied to a tree and all had a go jumping in. Pretty fun and I used Ben's bag as a flotation device so as not to drown slash to hide any accidental boob slips that may have occurred.
After a couple hours of playing, we went to find a riverboat to hitch back a ride. For a while we thought no one was coming back but luckily a guy eventually turned up - he looked very much like Master Murayama! Little racist seeing he's a Jap but still :). Back to the kipkip and then back home.
Having not eaten since midday and it now being past 6 o'clock I was famished! That's when a dinner buffet for 10000 kip seemed incredibly appealing. I had a huge pile on my plate and was so stuffed afterwards, perfectly content and more so! An unbelievable amount for like 80 pence! After my belly could take no more we went to the night market again and I ended up buying a cool backpack for like £5.20 and a Luang Prabang t-shirt for about £1.50! The Market seemed to go on forever down the road; we managed to cover most of it though. At the end of the market we bumped into Jessie and Sam and exchanged stories of our day.
