Today we went on a Snorkelling trip. The boat had a glass bottom but couldn't really see much as the seabed was pretty far down. They took us to Gili Meno and Gili Air, the two other Gili islands (there are three Gili islands in total).
At Meno, there was a fair swim in the open ocean to the shallow coral, where all the sea life was. There was something very relaxing about swimming underwater in the open ocean. The shallow sea bed rose like a cliff in the ocean, that being called the Meno wall. The seabed was filled with all kinds of sea life. I badly wanted to see a wild turtle and swimming around I thought it wasn't going to happen. But then a turtle just randomly swan right past me, so close I even got to touch it! Stroked it a little and let it swim on its' way. Loads of cool fish were getting about and bright coloured coral. Pastel coloured rainbow fish, striped fish and glowing dust fish things. There was loads of pretty looking fish but also outrageously ugly fish too which seemed to be pulling the most hilarious faces.
We sailed on to Gili Air and I saw another turtle and even more kinds of fish. We stopped for lunch at Gili Air had some potato nuggets. As we were leaving I was watching a class of kids doing taekwondo on the beach in the sunset, the perfect picture.
We got back on the boat and watched the sunset as we headed home. Beautiful colours of red orange pink filled the sky and reflected onto the surface of the sea, so relaxing and mesmerising. Back home I felt pretty ill so me and Isaac stayed in and watched a film and had an early night.
