Currently in snowy Banff up in the Canadian rockies. It's been interesting to go from 30 degrees to minus 12, fall up to my waist in snow, watch elk casually walk across the highway, see bears inbetween the trees, hike up glaciers, walk to the middle of mile long frozen lakes and bathe in natural hot springs. British Columbia and Alberta literally have everything you could ever want, i don't think you could ever be bored here. The scenery is just unreal, its miles of mountains that range from desert like canyons to perfect ski slopes. You drive for a few hours from Vancouver where it was really sunny some days to places such as Jasper and Banff where the snow covers everything in sight. I love Canada.
Vancouver was amazing, the hostel was really cool, had its own bar and i can legally drink here in BC and Alberta so that makes socialising so much more easier. Actually all of the hostels i've stayed in have their own bar and a really good night scene. Except the one hostel i stayed in Jasper national park which was interesting..an eco friendly save the planet hut in the middle of the woods that had no running water and everything it used was recycled or came from a natural source. It was cool to stay there one night but i don't think i could have stayed longer. showering outside in the snow in minus 12 wasn't what i was used to. But besides that 've done some pretty amazing here. been on huge snow treks up the mountains and to glaciers and the view from the top is just unbelievable. I can't even describe how peaceful and beautiful it was. Being able to walk across lakes as well was pretty cool, standing the middle knowing that thers water beneath you was just crazy. today i went to the hot springs here in Banff, just chilled out in the water absorbing the mountain views and now i'm detoxing as i don't feel well. Everyone has gone to watch the hockey in Calgary, Vancouver Cannucks Vs Calgary, i am not interesting in hockey nor paying 100bucks to sit in a cold ice arena when i feel like crap! So i'm going to head downstairs to the bar and get some food and chill out with people down tere. tomorrow i head for Kelowna an am going to do some wine tasting and check out its beauty. After that i head back to Vancouver for a night before taking on the epic 3day bus journey across Canada to Toronto.
