On our first day in Costa Rica, we spent some time touring the capital, San Jose. We saw the important buildings and learned about the culture and lifestyle of the city. It was really interesting to see what the city looked like and how much different it was then what we were used to. The night before, we had landed and walked around a little bit. We got to see and experience the night life in San Jose, and it was interesting and kind of scary. After we were done in San Jose, we rode on the bus to the Atlantic side of the country. We went to a place called Tortuguero, which means "place of the turtles", a national park and turtle sanctuary. We took a boat to our hotel, the Rana Roja lodges. After we got settled in at the hotel, we got back into the duck boats and went on an eco tour. We saw tons of birds, monkeys, and different types of wildlife.
