Stayed at Chiang Mai Inn in Chiang Mai. Lovely little place and incredibly friendly staff. We booked our trek through them and glad we did! We went to 3 temples as we wondered around the town- the largest temple was offering 'Monk Chat'. Nope, not a dating service, but an opportunity for the monks to improve their English and us to improve our knowledge of all things... monkey? The 2 I spoke to were 23 and get up every day at 5am to meditate. They can't have jobs so earn their money from collecting Psalms from people as they walk around and when people come to the Temples to pray.
After the trek (see other blog post) we went to the look out spot at 'Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep'-worth all the steps. Got there when it was light to see the view and then by the time we came out of the Temple it was dark and we could see the temple and the City all lit up! That was also the night that Bobby drank after over a year of not drinking... hilarious!!! Me, Sarah and Kelly literally cleared a bar with our Kareoke skillz (Loco Elvis) then found the clubs (Yellow and Joeys) where Sarah bumped into a guy that had said to her in 'The Club' in Bangkok 'You're the most beautiful girl in the world, but are you the best kisser?' Awkward.
We said goodbye to the group... and then there were 2!
