Day Ninety Two - October 6th, 2013
Torquay
We had a lazy morning exploring the surrounding towns of Torquay, including Jan Juc, Bells Beach and Winkipop. The weather was pretty bleak, so while Elly surfed, I lounged in the tent, and spent the day reading and relaxing - what Sundays are made for.
The rain held off for an hour and I grabbed the opportunity for a quick run, up the hill in the direction we drove in the morning. It felt good to stretch my legs after a day being cosy in the tent.
We popped out for some supplies and then set up camp in the kitchen to watch the NRL final - Manly Sea Eagles v Sydney Roosters. Everyone else in the room was rooting for the roosters (including Elliot who has likes a lot of the rooster players including James Maloney and Sonny Bill Williams) but I secretly wanted a Manly victory to round off our year of sporting 'wins'. Apparently most of the country hate Manly - who knew! It was funny to see some of the players who we served in the restaurant play, including Daley Cherry Evans who had a good game. It wasn't to be however, and the Roosters clinched the title in the ANZ stadium. We'll finish the Great Ocean Road and head for Phillip Island!
