Very sad to be leaving Rach in Chilliwack - had such a brilliant time seeing all of them. We got the B.C ferry to Vancouver Island, and then got the bus to victoria. We managed to find the hostel with no hassle this time, really cool hostel actually...called the ocean island backpackers. We managed to book a private room....finding that no sleep = no fun!!!! No one is as considerate as the english, always have people coming in and out of the room, turning the lights on - so frustrating! Anyway... we decided to hit a bar and finally treat ourselves to a few much needed and deserved drinks! Had a great night drinking a few cocktails and chilling out. The next morning we booked tickets to go on a whale watching tour. It was an absolutely stunning day... so sunny but rather cold!! We downed a cuppa and headed to the speed boat that would take us on our tour. We had to put on really think sea suits, looked rediculous with those on and flipflops!! We realised we'd made a big mistake with our foot wear when we were also given 2 pairs of gloves!!! We got put right at the front...of the speed boat, thought this would be good until we got out of the harbour and the speed increased!! We were going soooo fast that neither me or hannah could open our eyes! I literally thought my eyelashes were being stripped off!! Hmmm..someone shout if there's a whale!! Once we had reached the whale area we spotted 2 killer whales really quickly...amazing!!! Their dorsal fins were over 5 foot so you can imagine how big they were. We then went to an area with loads of sealions and seals, we also spotted a bald headed eagle! On our way back into the harbour we stopped as there had been a sighting of 2 humpback whales...we were not dissapointed! We were there long enough to see them dive twice so we got to see the beautiful sight of their tails out of the water!
Once on dry land...we took about 2 hours to recover from the cold! We grabbed some great seafood for lunch and looked about the shops for the rest of the day. Victoria was such a lovely little town...a bit like Dawsons Creek but with loads of tourists! That evening we caught the ferry to Seattle.Very sad to be leaving Rach in Chilliwack - had such a brilliant time seeing all of them.
