Phnom Penh is a really busy city with traffic madness here at its greatest! Most of our time here was spent trying to cross the roads, when not doing this we did have the chance to visit a couple of sites including the Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng museum. The museum was once the "Prison" (or torture chambers) during Pol Pots reign over Cambodia
Both were real eye openers and you just can not comprehend the horrific torture and cruelty these people endured during the Reign of the Kymer Rouge. Although very disturbing they are worth a visit to pay condolenses to the thousands who were executed. I think the most disturbing part was the fact that there are still clothes of the people who died pertruding from the ground as you walk aroung the killing fields. This place (literally big open graves dug in the ground and still visable today) was where people were brought from the prison to be executed.
We only stayed here for two nights in all and then decided to head for Vietnam, so far so good we have managed to keep to timing and not miss any more buses or planes.
In all we have really enjoyed Cambodia its an amazing place and would like to explore more of it at some point, the food is great, although hot hot hot! One thing that will always spring to mind with this place is the constant smell of inscence in the air and continual horn beeping!
