Friday 16th Feb:
We had to have an eary start this morning as we were going to see Tanya and Allan (family). We were taking their boat across to Rottnest Island, which is about 12 miles away and the boat was like a small speedboat. We started the day with the hair straightened, nice makeup on and the bikini's on - even managed to attract the attention of some lads on another boat.....
However, 15mins into the journey.....it was more like a scene from 'The Perfect storm' and us two looking like drowned rats!! There was a 3 metre swell, which seemed very big and we both kept getting soaked with water by the waves and had to hold on very tightly to the sides! It was hilarious though, we were laughing the whole 45min jouney there and we had the best time. Somehow Soph managed to get the wettest, as she was stood behind Em who was sitting - but our hair definately wasn't straight when we stepped off the boat! Before we got to the island we pulled some cray pots up and caught 4 crayfish, which were huge and looked very tasty!
We really liked Rottnest Island, we had a lovely lunch followed by some huge cakes from the bakery which were delicious! Then we layed on the beach all afternoon with some lovely views of all the boats coming in, it was very hot and nice to cool off in the water. Our journey back home was much smoother, managed to sit down all the way home, and not get very wet! We stopped to catch some whiting although won't resort to becoming fisherwomen as didn't catch any!
We had such a nice evening back in Perth, we walked along Cottsloe Beach to see the sunset and had a few beers in th pub. Soph and Em with wet curly hair, Tanya's joggers and kagool on - was hilarious! Had a lovely dinner of chicken parmagino (another fav that we've found) and a bottle of wine! Had such a great day and we also learnt the saying 'Buh Buh' which means beautiful!
