Soongies' Great Adventure
After much deliberation we decided to buy some ski clothing today. We couldn't decide whether we should hire the clothes in France when we get there or buy them here as there might be limited selections over there. Calvin also thought that buying the clothes might also lead to future skiing endeavours whilst travelling around Europe! Auntie Fiona, Calvin and Kate drove out to Go Outdoors (which is actually in Wales - first for Calvin). There was quite a good deal here - 60 pounds for 1 x ski jacket, 1 x ski pants, thermals and ski socks. The only problem was, there were a few items out of stock! After quite a bit of mixing and matching we eventually walked out with 2 x ski packages and ski goggles each. Off to Chester, which is on the border of England and Wales. We stopped in Chester for a short while to find some gloves. Calvin found some gloves at the Sportsdirect.com shop but Kate had a fair bit of trouble trying to find gloves that fit her hands well. We then drove to Pant-yr-Ochain, a lovely country pub in Wrexham, Wales where we met Uncle Richard and Andrew and Uncle Richards side of the family - the Welsh side - for a late lunch. We have really taken to these English Country Pubs - the food is delicious and reasonably priced, the service is very good, they are all so tastefully decorated and there is something about the warmth inside when it is cold outside. We were there for a few hours eating and chatting before heading home for a light dinner and some board games.
