TUESDAY JAN 16th: Flight went ok, a MAN on our flight dressed in a skirt and bra made it a whole lot better! Alice was sat next to a far too happy flight attendant who kept feeding us biscuits and making sure we were ok. Soph sat next to a crazy Hungarian man who thought everything was 'really cool!'
Got the shuttle bus and after dropping 2 girls from our flight at the most dodgy looking hostel ever ours didnt seem too bad! We're in an 8bed female dorm and so far we have shared with: 3 Brazilians, 1 German, 2 Koreans, 2 Denmark, 1 Chinese and 2 Geordies! Not too good with names so we call everyone by their country!
Walked down Hollywood Boulevard...It's totally FULL of wierdos and homeless people, not how you imagine it to be at all!
WEDNESDAY JAN 17th: Got up and had the all you can eat pancake breakfast which you have to make yourself so naturally ours turned out looking like omelettes and scrambled egg! Quite nice though! Went to the world Record museum and the wax one, they were pretty s***e but we found something to laugh about (little phil!)
In the evening we had an all you can eat bbq at the hostel except all we could eat was the potato salad and crisps (the rest was gross!) They had a comedy night in the bar which was actually really good, beers were $1 which made it a WHOLE lot funnier! As you can guess the hostels a non ID zone!
THURSDAY JAN 18th: Got up and left for Universal Studios at 10 with a few friends we've met along the way. Missed the pancakes this morning because of a boy with OCD who had to make sure his were perfectly round and golden!! VERY angry! Universal was wicked! We were pretty nakerd and so hit the sac early!
FRIDAY JAN 19th: Busiest day so far! We went on the hostels tour of Bel air and Beverly Hills. Paid $5 compared to the $35 it cost to do it with the tour company..we found out this was because the tour is on a bus...we walked the entire way! Saw LOADS of houses including; Jen and Brads old house and the play boy mansion. The houses were AMAZING..we want to live there.....DADDY! :)
Spent the afternoon in Rodeo Drive, we felt like we were in Pretty Woman after some strange looks from the manager of Versace who blatently could tell we were never going to buy a pair of flip flops for $500...Daddy?!
Came back to the hostel, had 5mins to get into the crocs and get set for our hike into the hills! Runyon Canyon was beautiful except for all the tiny little rat dogs being carried by their super fit owners!
The hostel ran a bar crawl this night but we obviously couldnt go! We paid James (architect from Bournemouth) to go and buy us some alcohol so we could have a quiet sociable drink in the bar! This turned from us and Lisa having a dirnk and a chat into the wildest party I've been to in ages! Every nationality was there playing drinking games with us.. People even left the bar crawl hearing that our party was better! The highlight of the night was Alice break dancing on the stage!!! Got to bed about 7am!
SATURDAY JAN 20th: Heads just slightly sore, eyes just a little bit heavy we got up (missed the pancakes...again!) only to find out the shuttle to Venice Beach, Santa Monica was an hour long! Sat on the beach, saw some dolphins (Alice was very excited by this!) wanted to go for a swim but turned out we were the only people who were actually wearing our bikinis so went shopping instead! oopsy! Sorry Daddy! Walked from Venice Beach into Santa Monica, took about 2 hours..Lovers beach!
The bus back took ages but we were very hyper and were highly enteratined the whole way by a little old lady! She was chatting up Mark giving him a personal tour of the city..She was talking about how anything goes here and when we saw 2 men on the sidewalk, one pushing a pram she told us they were gay and 'Probably just went out and adopted that baby!' (kinda had to be there our Kiwi friend Dimos thought we were crazy for managing to be hysterical the rest of the way back!)
Went to the bar again in the evening..Was a bit more chilled than the other night but still didnt get to bed til 4!
SUNDAY 21st JAN: Today we have just chilled out completey..hence this blog is pretty huge..serves you all right for nagging! There's another comedy night tonight with different comediens so we'll be there later. We have tickets to an LA Lakers game tomorrow night which we're really excited about, we've even bought the jersey!! We'll tell you all about it when we get a chance to write another essay for you! All in all we're having a pretty awesome time, Although Hollywood is pretty wierd LA is cool!
We miss you all very much and hope your all ok! Peace out.... x x x x x x x
