You will be happy to know i survived koh phangan! My feet are strapped up still ,i have luminous paint on my clothes and i am onto my 5th pair of flip flops, but it was all good in the end.
I left at 6am this morning and its been a nightmare of a day. I kind of had a feeling it would be! I first got a taxi to the port, a ferry to the mainland, a bus to the bus station, a motorbike to another holding point, a truck ride to another bus point then south to the bottom of thailand where me and this dutch guy were told there was no bus to take us to the border. One minute they said there was bombs, then they said the bus was full - theygave us the run around for hours taking us here and there. At 7 we called it a day as it was obvious we werent getting anywhere so we have checked into a disgusting hotel and will leave first thing tomorrow on the train. I might take a day in kota baru to recover or might just head straight to the islands.
Im okay though, you have to laugh at these things! The people stare at you here and with my crippled feet i'm something of a novelty! The guy im here with has bandages all over his legs too - its a bit of a trend in koh phangan!
Well i hope you are all good at home. Heard about all the flight stuff back home - cripey, not good.
