Day 18: Halloween in Whistler.Halloween in Canada is like New Year's Eve at home. It's massive.
The eager Canadians had started carving their pumpkins weeks before (I know this because, several, putrid, rotting, specimens sat on our dinner tables in the hostel while we tried to eat, stinking to high heaven).
It was really exciting to all us foreigners and everyone talked about costumes opposed to accommodation briefly. We all went down to a second hand place to find costumes for Halloween which was like a really crap indoor car boot sale with stuff you know you didn't need but were a bit tempted to buy.
I picked anything that fit me which happened to be a kid's SWAT team vest, a pair of hockey gloves and ski goggles.I looked scary but for all the wrong reasons. Julian somehow managed to get a whole Hawaii outfit and Nate something that made him resemble an umpa loompa. We looked terrible but hey, that was the point (http://www.statravelblogs.com/smarsha78/albums/whistler-baby).
It turned out to be a wicked night and I managed to loose my bank card for the umpteenth time and somehow spend the night at two different clubs, culminating with various peeps at ours including two girls dressed as a tequila and a lime.
