We arrived at our hostel (Chiliblue Backpackers) by airport shuttle bus. We checked in at reception (not very helpful to say the least!). After being given very brief instructions of the hostel, we were given our key (room 11) and instructions to which floor we were on, we headed up the stairs.

Each door had a cartoon character on - there was even a Peter Griffin one next to us (which yes, reminded me of you Jack Bowen, you and bloody Family Guy! Ha).

When we opened our door a weird smell, mixed with hot air, hit us. YUCK!! Inside was a bunk bed (double on the bottom, single on the top), a fridge and a little cupboard. We put down our rucksacks and decided to have a look around the floor.

We had a shower room and a toilet room next to us on the one side and there was a further two toilet rooms the other. The Kitchen/Common room was pretty much opposite our room and had a nice air conditioned feel. There was also a little outside area which was called the courtyard.

First impessions I had when seeing this hostel - "What have i let myself in for?".

We decided to freshen up, as we felt a little jet lagged and grizzly from our flight and then we thought we would attend the free BBQ at the ccourtyard. However there didn't seem to be a BBQ, so we all decided to get an early night and sleep off some jet lag.

Our plan to get up early and see some of the Sydney sights :)
