Hey guys!!!

I am in the beautiful Krabi in south Thailand! Anyway I have finished my hill tribe trek, it was really good fun! It rained loads the first day and we got wet on the way up to the mountain but luckily the rain had stopped by the time we started walking! However it was fairly amusing as the ground was muddy and slippery and there were alot of hills the first day! We arrrived very tired and sweaty to small village where a Karen tribe live in the middle of the jungle, it was fairly small with wooden houses but very peaceful!! That night we slept in small bamboo huts for two people ( I stayed with Jenna) it was reall ysweet and bouncy!!! The village was lovely and there was even a shower! Well three wooden wall like structures and a pipe with a tap on the side of a hill, so a muddy, stony, grassy floor!) But I was so pleased with it! The next day we walked for about 3-4 hours up a big hill called Big Momma hill!! Then we got to ride on elephants!!!

Th eelephant trekking was sooo scarty, but so much fun!!! We had a small boy sitting on the head of our elephant called memo, which was a little worrying especially going up and down hills! But it was a lovely experience! The second village was bigger with a school and we all slept in the same hut. I washed with a bucket! In the evening we played games and I learnt the elephant song which I will sing to all when I get home!!

The third day we went bamboo rafting, which is literally a few pieces of bamboo tied together to make a raft which you sit on and then float down a river. As it had rained alot it was great fun as the river was flowing well and there were a few good rapids! When we finished we went back to Chang Mai!

From Chang Mai we caught a night train back to Bangkok and we our new tour leader and four more girls that joined our group! We then headed south to Krabi!
