Hey everybody!!!

Im in Sihanoukville on the coast in Cambodia still! Wow it's been such a good week! Driving into CAmbodia is such an amazing experience, we drove through the border at Poi Pet with Thailand and for hours and hours alll we saw were wooden shacks, no "houses"as we know them to be. The country is very poor and it is apparent everywhere but still everyone is so friendly.

We got up at 4am to watch the sunrise over the temples at angkor Wat which was brilliant, and the temples there are the biggest complex in the world. We visited 4 temples there including the one with the faces in the picture! It was very hot but lovely to see. In the evening we watched traditional khmer dancing.

The following day we visited the floating village located on the world's largest fresh water lake, it was like a sea! The people that lived there were the poorest communities and it was very humbling to see. In the afternoon we walked around the markets to Siem Reap. The following day we travelled from Siem Reap to Kompong Cham, where we satyed at a hotel on the Mekong river. It was a huge rivwer and we visited an island oin the middle were Cambodians live traditionally. There is one school taught nby monks and we sat and played with the children helping to teach them english. They were lovely children and it was great fun. In the evening we went to a CAmbodian families house and ate tradtional food while sitting on the floor in their one room wooden house!!

The following day we travelled to our homestay. Here we sytayed in a family house, which again was a wooden shack on stilts. We had to make sure we had our mosquito nets up as malaria is a problem here, and I got bitten 3 times!!! (i had avoided bites previously) It was quite hard sleeping on the floor and very hot! In the morning we trekked up to the waterfall which was a very very hot sweaty uphill climb, but once we arrived it was amazing!! We climbed into the waterfall which was a huge drop! Then we walked down to the other waterfall and I sat in the flow for ages it was really relaxing and so good after the hot walk!

We then travelled to Sihanoukville and last night had a lovely seafood barbeque on the beach. Anyway Im off to the beach!! Going to try and get a boat trip to the islands. I'm having an amazing time!!!
