Hey everyone!
Singapore was a HUGE difference coming from India. Our port was in Malaysia and the only way we could get to Singapore is through SAS since it is in a different country. It is the cleanest country in the world and has a crime rate of .002%. It was pretty much like living in a huge bubble because everything was so perfect. There are so many laws such as no chewing gum, or always flush the public toilets. Someone who lives there told me that he got thrown in jail for the night when he was 11 because he was playing with those things that make a huge noise when they hit the ground. It was a different experience to say the least.
We woke up and had to go straight through customs. They were a lot stricter here and had to do it face to face so it took us over an hour and a half to get through. We were waiting in the extreme heat with crazy humidity. It was horrible. Ash and I didn' t have enough time to explore Malaysia because we were going straight to SINGAPORE!!
We hopped on a quick 70 minute flight and went straight to the hotel. The rest of the night was ours. We went to a really nice Chinese restaurant right before they were closing. We stayed there for a little bit then went to explore the nightlife. We walked up and down Clark Quay (pronounced Clark Key) and stopped into a few different places. It was a fun night out with our friends.
The next morning a few of us ate a Starbucks. It was the first legit coffee place that we have been to the entire semester so everyone was super happy. We walked around the mall until our other friends woke up then headed to the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. This hotel is absolutely incredible. There is 3 buildings and they are all connected at the top. It looks like a giant ship sitting on top of the 3 buildings. We somehow managed our way up to the top and took some pictures. Then we hopped on to a random tour that allowed us to go into the pool area. You are not allowed to go in there unless you are staying there but we got in. Only until they realized a bunch of 20 year olds swimming and walking around, then they threatened to call security on us so we had to go down. Sorry mom and dad! At least I got to go to the top! That night we went on a huge ferris wheel that overlooks all of Singapore and takes 40 minutes to go around. This was awesome because all the lights were lit up everywhere and it was spectacular!
The last day we had to leave at 1pm so we hung around by the hotel the whole time. Did some last minute shopping and got some food. Singapore was like Disneyworld but for older people. There is so much to do and see I wish we were there for so much longer! But, we have to keep moving on and our next stop is Vietnam!!!
