Mon 7th,New member of our team Marc from Frankfurt joined us today for our visit to one of the most famous tourist attractions in China, the Summer Palace,a huge area over 290 hectacers, built in 1750 by Emperor Qianlan to celerbrate his mum's birthday,(I did leave a message just asking for a new bike on my birthday),same as most of the old buildings here it got burned down this time by the Anglo/French in 1860,it got re-built again in 1886 only so they could burn it down again in 1900,have no fear it was up and running again within 2 years, did'nt open up to the public untill 1914,well worth the wait though such a nice place,I think flame throwers are now banned especcially French one's,we had good weather today cold but good, must have been in the - at night as the lake was frozen over, would be a lot busier but nicer in summer, listened to a great act in one of the corridors and old lady strangling a cat while scrapping her nails down the blackboard myself and Jamie were crying with laughter so funny, video to follow.Time for a quick change then we went of to see a Kung Fu show which we all really enjoyed.we have been trying to think of what the Chinese people sound like when they speak, the blokes sound like drunk Northern Ireland lads and the women are Janet Street Porter sound a like's teeth and all just like spitting image, hard not to laugh when we here them.
