Mon 8th,Jamie and Ian staying on in Ko Toa to wait for Luke to come back to do thier Advaced diving course starting on Wed,I have decided to have a bit of time on my own, cant get my ear's wet for 6 day's so no beach, heading for Kuala Lumpar, taxi picked me up at 8.50am ready for the 9.30 catamaran to Koh Sumui, good trip and arrived at 11.30,already booked into the Mermaid Hotel so got a taxi there, settled in and had a walk around, got onto the internet and booked my next few day's acc and travel, had a nice meal and bed for 11pm.
Tues 9th,Up at 6.30,taxi to the airport which was just around the corner, the flight from Koh Sumui to et is only about an hour and 1/2,Koh Sumui airport is probably one of the nicest I have been to,small but really clean with nice shops and a place where you can sit down watch tv and have free food and drink it was a shame when they called for boarding, great flight and arrived at 9.45,was'nt going far as I had booked a flight To Kuala Lumpar that was leaving at 13.40,not a patch on the last airport so had a little kip in the waiting area, woke up and booked my bag in,got stung for overweight bag(bloody Air Asia)you have to book your bag in advance with them,I thought the lady that booked it for me had done it already, arrived at 4pm to be met by taxi's and all Proton's,only just had enough money to pay for the taxi but I was on my way, arrived at the Tiara Guest house in Little India,a great place to be as you are between the Twin Towers and the KL tower, room was another small cell but the people were really friendly, dumped my bag off and walked to the bus station to book a coach to Singapore, strange place with loads of different company's running coaches to the same places, but booked mine for 39 about 8 quid, walked to the towers in the dark, the Twin Towers(proper name the Petronas building)is awesome as you turn the corner and look up,a friendly English bloke took my picture with the towers in the back round, got back to base and had a nice curry, well when in Rome.
Wed 10th,Up at 6.30 to join the queue to go up to the bridge in the middle of the towers, was told the night before that they only let a certain amount of people go up a day I think it was about 1,000 so wanted to make sure I was 1 of them, got there just after 7am with another 25 people, stood there till they opened up at 8.40 got my time to go up, 9.15 the first tour, great now I could go and have a wee been holding it in for ages. The tour itself is'nt that great you just go up 1/2 way in the lift walk on the bridge for 10mins and that's it but glad I did it,the views are still good but would have liked to have gone to to the top as it is the tallest twin tower in the world, behind the building is a lovely park with a pool so sat there for a while then moved onto the KL Tower, where as the Twin Tower is free the KL is a bit expensive, they do it as a package,I had a formula 1 simulator drive,a donkey ride,an animal farm ticket and a trip to the top of the tower,it was all good and got some good pics of me with different animals and a big snake, left there and got the monorail to see the national stadium a massive 80,000 all seater, then behind that was the hockey stadium, sat and watched a game for a while,Ian and Jamie started thier advanced diving course today as Luke made it back in time,a 2 day course so will do another dive tomorrow.
Thurs 11th-24th,As we have a lot of catching up to do on here and it's getting really expensive to use the internet(we are in Oz now)we have decided to do a bit of a block entry, mine is fairly easy to do,went to Singapore for a few day's had a look around, had a great day at what they say is the best zoo in the world, met some lovely people, flew to Bali on the 14th,in time for thier new year, very strange it's quiet time for them and no lights allowed bit difficult in the restaurant, had quiet a few day's just sat on the lovely beaches, stayed in the Oasis beach resort for the first few day's then moved to Kuta, waves a bit bigger over this side, went white water rafting with Sue,2 chinese ladies and our guide Madey(great day)met up with Matt for a few beers,Ian and Jamie did there 2 dives for the advance diving course, one of them a night dive the other a wreck dive without the wreck as they could'nt find it,they left Ko Toa and went on the night boat to Phi Phi,stayed a few day's there and visited some of the smaller islands and saw Maya Beach where the film the Beach was filmed, they then went on to Krabi for 5 day's before catching the night bus to KL,couple of day's there before getting a flight to Singapore,we all met back up together again on the 24th,stayed in a hostel for the night ready for our next adventure,OZ HERE WE COME.sorry this blog was short and sweet but it gives us a chance to catch up now.
