Had another crazy week here but we are settling in...as Milicent (one of the women we live with) said this week "We have known how to be African women!"
We both feel really settled and although there is always staring we are getting used to it! We starting teaching, jen english and me maths. Was probably the scariest thing i have ever done, a class of 93 all hanging on your everyword! But we both felt so proud when we had done it though was a great feeling! Not sure how much of what we say they understand, i guess we will find out when the homework comes in!
We spend the evenings playing with the neighbours, they are so cute and love just playing catch, they laugh for hours on end, totally adorable! We have got into pumping the water, cooking but not so much the cleaning of the clothes, got that challenge tomorrow! The food situ is much better. At school they obviously figured we hate ugali (maize) so the always cook us something else!
Church was sooo funny! We went with Linda and some of the girls we live with, but when we got in one of the nuns ushered us over to sit with them! Nightmare, they would definitely know we didnt have a clue what to do! Most of the congregation just stared at us throught the whole service, especially the children! Was a little akward to say the least! The singing and dancing in church was briliant, there was no "oh happy days" though, i wonder if they take requests!
All in all it is going really well and we have having so many funny and amazing experiences! Sorry there are no photos yet, it will take hours and Linda is patiently waiting for us! Been two hours so far!!
Keep the emails coming, we look forward to Saturdays when we can read them all!!
Love you all xxxxx
