Hi Guys, its Pip. Sorry for delay in writing on the site, and please ignore the map, we are not in bangkok, we are in the north of Thailand in a town called Pai, very close to Chaing Mai.  We got here yestreday and are staying here a few days to relax and stop travelling before making our way down to the islands for the full moon party. 

we stayed in Bangkok 2 nights, and that was plenty, its so busy, crowded and polluted it was a relief to breath, but still worth seeing.  we caught an overnight bus to Chaing Mai, it took 10 hours but got there safely although quite tired.we did not sit down but went straight onto a jungle trek for 3 days with our guide Sam, staying at a village and hut on those nights in the middle of the jungle.  it was really difficult and steep slopes but we did it.  we had an elephant ride on the first day, a beautiful waterfall stop on the second and went bamboo rafting on the third.  a couple of us were brave enough to stand up on the raft but quickly decided to sit when we saw the river ahead.  Amazingly we were slowly going along, with holly pushing one raft with a big stick, and jolie the other, there were three elephants bathing in the river as we went down stream past them.  amazing moment. 

We are all having a great time, looking after each other and enjoying it. 

We will try and figure out some photos while we are here in Pai and get a few on the computer, if it wants to work.
