Lots and lots of rest and then a little bit of stress....
Our next stop after Windhoek was the etosha pan nature reserve. Such good fun! We camped in the park and did our own game drive around. We saw lots of animals, mostly: Springbok, gempsbok, zebra.... springbok, gempsbok, zebra,... springbok, gempsbok, zebra oh a griraffe!!! Can you see a pattern? Unfortunatly no elephants or lions or cheetahs. Its a bit of a competition when you get back to the camps sites as to what you have seen and everyone says they have seen a lion. i think they tell porkies!! No lions but great fun all the same. I did we a bush baby in the camps site (cutest thing i have ever seen and rarer than a lion)
Then we headed up the the caprivi strip, now this is beautiful! Green and on a river with hippos and crocs and elephants. Although my first nights sleep was a bit uneasy as we decided to sleep in our (hippo shaped tent) and i was paraniod one would come and befriend us, especailly as st john spent the day telling me how dangerus and aggressive they are. We stayed a few days here, just chilling. Then headed off to Botswana.
Then we had our little bit of stress. We came to Botswana after being tempted by David Attenborough and is wonders of the world programme. Apparently to see the Okovango delta is flood is just awsome. Now i dont doubt him but he could have mentioned that you need a plane too and a million dollars! Its a bit flooded! We tried to get to a camp site and ended up a bit stuck in a marsh but Berthas 4 x 4 got us out. Everyone we meet has similar stories, one guy was even stuck for 3 days. So we are all in the backpackers in town trying to figure out how we see the delta without selling a kidney to pay for a flight over it... hmmmm
