After finishing my first ever World Championship attendance with a viewing of the Dance Drama competition, we left Boston lovely and early for a couple of flights. First leg was just over three hours and involved us arriving nice and early into Miami so managing a four hour layover. It was then a four hour flight into Quito, Ecuador so we arrived at 7pm at night.
We were supposed to have a transfer organised by the tour company but no luck so we begrudgingly took a taxi, unsure as to what fate may await us! You no sooner step out the door and some guy is going 'Mrs, Mrs, you want taxi?'. Now, it was a nice car, no qualms there, and the driver seemed nice enough. He drove for what seemed like forever (it took about 50 minutes) until he said 'Welcome to Quito'. Then it was a quick 10 minute drive to the hotel...and a nice $30 for a very long and winding journey.
The one thing we did notice is that there seems to be just suggestions for where people may like to drive on the road. Central line means nothing...take whichever part of whichever lane you see fit! We had a quick bite to eat in the hotels cafe before bed as we'd been up early this morning and now have to be up early tomorrow too for our journey to the Galapagos! 4:45am! Bah!
