Today (Friday) was a public holiday in Singapore, and the CBD is unbelivably quiet. Walking the 5 minutes to Raffles Place MRT, I probably only saw 10 vehicles that were not buses or taxis. I made my way over to the Botanic Gardens, with plenty of water and food in my bag! The gardens were very busy, so it is clearly where people go when they aren't working. The flight back to Singapore from Melbourne was very enjoyable - the cabin had been recently refurbished (we were the 3rd set of passengers to use it if I remember correctly). Another airport nightmare happened today. We got up very early to go to the airport to get a plane to Sydney, and after checking in, getting our boarding card and waiting a few hours for the plane, found it had been cancelled.
