Today, we left the camping place relatively early, but kept most of the luggage including the tents at the campsite in Portalier. So we hiked with light backpacks to Les Hospitaux Neufs, where we caugt a bus and afterwards a train back to Portalier.
The hike was very nice without carrying the heavy backpacks. It was almost like flying. We hiked first to La Cluse-et-Mijoux, a little town, famous for it's huge and beautiful castle Joux overlooking the surrounding valleys. The castle dates back to the 11th century but most of its current shape was built in the 17th century by Louis XIV or his achitect.
After the castle we continued for another 20 km to our final destination. As always on my last days, I am a bit melancholic, because I know, I will be out of the beautiful landscape, the loneliness of the area and the nice daily routine for many more months.
Anyway, the journey will go on -next year the latest in England, Belgium, or France. And one day, I hopefully will arrive in Niece.
See you soon!
