WE MADE IT!! Kinlochleven - Fort William. We started a steep climb out of kinlochleven in blazing sunshine, sweating buckets and then encountered a brief but brutal midge attack (but the only one of trip so lucky!). What should have then been a lovely stroll past scenic mountains and through pretty forests was marred by the HEAVY rain! Again, we've been lucky that it was our first rainy day but it wasn't ideal! We arrived in Fort William and had our photos at the sign, then searched for a pub......only to find there are 2 ends to 'The Way' so we walked an extra mile to the other one for photos! Luckily that end was next to a pub so we rewarded ourselves with a pint! Cold, wet and tired we treated ourselves to a taxi to the Corrie Duff guesthouse, a lovely welcome to a spotless b&b, not as quirky or quaint as we've been used to but great service and a great sleep!! We cleaned and warmed up to taxi back into Fort Bill for a pint, food and some live music. Lovely to see some faces that we'd seen along 'The Way' celebrating their achievements too.
Fort William - Tynemouth. An early start and a snooze on the train brought us back to tynemouth for a celebratory beer and a BBQ, thank you Tracey! We've had an amazing time and really enjoyed the challenge, the accommodation, the people we've met and the refreshments!! And, just to show off........NO BLISTERS!!!!!!!
Signing off from this adventure happy but tired, and keen to plan the next!!!
