Promise this one will be shorter....After the adventures in Ban Lung the trip has settled down into more sedate travelling, ish. We visited Kratie, the site on the Mekong where the graceful Irrawaddy dolphins are found. Sun setting, beautiful surroundings, dolphins swimming around the boat. Ah! It's tough this travelling malarkey! Then moved on to the capital, Phnom Penh. As expected a more bustling environment but still nowhere near as hectic as Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh...We went to Tuol Sleng Museum (the former school that was turned into a prison by the Khmer Rouge when they took over the city). Haunting. Unforgettable images. Unbelievable tales of tragedy. Emotions ran high and I had to leave... We then visited Choeung Ek Genocidal Centre which in comparison is a peaceful, tranquil memorial. Amazingly, Cambodians don't seem to feel any malice or anger. Not sure how... or why...After a few more days of capital city action including a comedy night out dancing we moved on to Kampot where a trip out to the national park in the back of a 4WD ensured that my fading selection of bruises were replaced with a great set all down my side. Then on to Sihanoukville for a bit of beach laziness.... Saying that: I had some good snorkeling practice; I can now throw a tennis ball relatively well (and I mean relative to how I used to throw one rather than anyone good!!); and long walks along beaches are good for the arse!!
