This morning we left Rivière du Loup early for our drive to Quebec City. The weather was fine but cold. The drive was good and only took us a couple of hours or so. Thank goodness Liz had a GPS as our hotel is located in the old part of the city where streets are narrow and tricky.
Quebec is beautiful - I almost feel as though we took a wrong turn and ended up in France. All of the signs are in French, as are the menus (although they have English on them as well), everyone speaks French (most people in shops/hotels speak English as well as French but usually speak in French first - once we reply in English they switch over) and when you walk around the narrow cobbled streets it feels like you could be in Europe. We spent the day walking around the old part of the city (around our hotel) - I took so many photos (have a look!).
We ate dinner at a lovely place just nearby - Bistro Sous le Fort. It is only small but the food and service were fabulous. We then walked around some more - it was lovely to see it at night and with fewer people. We saw some interesting tour guides - some in capes with lanterns and others dressed as ghouls! Our hotel is lovely and the staff are really great.
