Lares Trek and Machu Picchu - 20 - 23 Oct Wow - probably our favourite week so far. This trek was amazing. We began on a little bus with our fellow trekkers (Rehta and Janaine - 2 South African girls who were so great - I knew we would get on well when Janine offered me her gossip magazines to read on the bus!!) After a few hours drive we arrived at the hot springs! As you can see from the pictures the water was a little less than inviting and the smell - mmm...

As I was writing before... Santa Cruz trek - 10th - 14th October A great (quite tough) few days, trekking every day for 6 hours ish in all sorts of weather, altitude and steepness!! It was a real challenge in places but so rewarding. Our guides were great - they provided us with delicious meals throughout the day and each evening by candlelight in our cosy food tent.
