Well, after 24 hours of traveling, we finally arrived at our b&b. Rome is incredibly confusing.
Kevin and I decided that we were street savvy and could figure out the way to our hotel using public transportation. Boy were we ever wrong.
First, let me preface by saying that even though we went to Verizon and set up all the international stuff, our phones are NOT working. (Verizon get an angry phone call from me when we get home). So we had no map or way to look up directions for how to get to the hotel.
This also meant, I could not call the hotel for help.
I was so glad that I was somewhat prepared with a screen shot of a google map and some directions. Also, I had saved an old email from the owner of the b&b we are staying at that had instructions for which bus to take.
Unfortunately, it took us forever to find this particular bus. Then once we were dropped off, we discovered that if there is one thing Rome does not have.... it's street signs.
Lucky for me, I'm traveling with a former boys scout who knows how to look at a map and figure it out. Once we were in the general area we began wandering somewhat aimlessly until we heard someone call "Stephanie?" out a window above us. We waved at him and he let us up.
We are staying in a (surprisingly) spacious room and share a (surprisingly) spacious bathroom with one other room.
Now that we are settled and a bit jet lagged, we are making it an early night. First thing tomorrow we are taking an early tour. Good Night from Rome! Although, as I write this, it's only 10 minutes to 2pm for our fellow Californians.
