6 June - Tibet - lake Namatso - Lhasa
Lets just say that last night was a long night - it was pretty cold & a thick eiderdown & blankets were provided but they were so heavy that it felt you were sleeping under a yak. Plus of course, we were forever tangled up in our sleeping sheets & really felt the lack of oxygen.
However, things always look better in the morning. After a breakfast of yak yogurt for me, R chose the soft option of a fried egg, we headed back to Lhasa and 5 hours, 5 police checkpoints & 3times having our papers checked we were back at our hotel. The staff are like family now & had milk ready for us (not the norm here) & welcomed us like long lost friends. We found some lunch from the bakery, chilled & read & then went in search of dinner. After an hour of wandering around looking for something different we found the Snow Mountain Tibetan Resturant. We were welcomed in by gestures, put in a private room & had the door locked on us whilst the waitress took our order ... Or tried to. We got a coke & looked a the menu & nothing we choose they had so after a while we paid for our drink & got her to unlock the door & let us go.... Very weird!
Anyway, landed up at a well recommended western Resturant & had a lovely meal.
