Hey Everyone,
I apologise for not entering something sooner, thanks for your messages and well wishes. I am alive and well. The flight to JoBurg was long and I didn't sleep at all but was met quickly at the airport which was a huge relief and went straigt to the backpackers. I left for the tour early the next morning which was a bit of a killer but helped me cope with the time difference.
We headed pretty much to Kruger National Park which was awesome and we saw and got photos of Elephant, giraffe, zebra, bufflao, lion, cheetah, monkeys, baboon, impala (millions of them) wildebeast, rhino, hippo and a dubious sighting but no photo of a leopard. Was an exciting way to start the tour.
After Kruger we went to Maputo in Mozanbique which was crazy. People everywhere trying to sell you stuff and don't understand the word no. I learnt some protuguese and chatted to some locals which was awesome fun. The people I am travelling with are in their 60's from Melbourne and didn't like it at all but I loved the bantering and found it crazy but hilarious.
We spent New Years eve in a small backpackers in Swaziland and it was very quiet just chatting to a girl from Denmark. Border crossings have been very interesting including being squeezed out of the room and into a swarm of people by myself but I just used my elbows and made my way back to my tour leader who was watching out for me. Then crossing inot Mozanbuique we had to hand over our passports and wait for an hour before they were given back. Very nervous about that but my tour guide "G" is very good and said it was ok.
Spent some time in Durban which I loved the festive beach scene and the backpackers was across from the beach with ships on the horizon I could have forgotten I wasn't home. Tomorrow we leave Cintsa and head to Addo Elephant park and Knysna. Internet is hard to find sometimes so I will try to update possibly in Cape Town.
Hope you are all safe, happy, well and had a great Christmas and New Year. Please don't check my spelling I am holidays with slightly dogdy computers. Sorry also no photos as limited time and computer not compatible with card format.
Love you all
Sharon
