Got to Kalaw at 3am, slept pretty much the whole way. Ended up staying at this random hostel a lady let us in her English wasn't great but had 2 rooms for us so went straight to sleep. Woke up, had breakfast and then went round the markets in Kalaw. We met a guy called Gautama 'G' who was staying at our hostel and later on Zak was to join us from Bagan. G had a cool story, he plays it down but we and especially me was like 'what a cool f***in job bro' he works in film visual effects and is currently working on the new Star Wars film out in December! Decent! We all went and rented out bicycles and rode to a cave in Kalaw and found another cave with some statues outside. Went into one of the caves and it was pitch black, couldn't see anything but with the light on our phones we could see dozens of bats. G knew what I was on about when doing Ace Ventura quotes to do with the bats so instantly he was my best friend ha! :) Went further in the cave slippery as you like and the bats were literally flying over us pretty crazy. Went out and rode up a hill to a temple and stopped for some lunch and drinks at a cool view point and a building site where the builders wanted pictures with us. Went into the market to buy some supplies for the trek, got some Burmese sun cream and Burmese clothes. New quote for the day 'ssooooooo Burmese!' Couldn't of been more Burmese with our sun cream and clothes. Ended up booking our trek with A1 Trekking seemed pretty reliable so sorted everything out ready for the morning. Few games of a****** and drinks with dinner and we hit the sack!
