Is this a dream?

I feel like I'm living in a fairy tale. How can so many exciting and wonderful things be happening simultaneously? My parents called today and they booked their tickets for a visit in late January. I'm flying to Madrid tomorrow morning. And today, Steph, Jaime and I took 5th place overall at one of the most prestigious BBQ competitions in the country. We were up against nationally recognized teams, teams that are using our rubs, and we held our own! I couldn't be more happy and am so very proud of Steph.

We just finished up at the team reception/banquet complete with delicious food, decadent desserts and live classical guitar. There are no words to describe this competition, this experience.

I'm back in our casita prepping for a 3:30am wake up call. It's a 2.5 hour drive from here to LAX, but it's all been worth it. Some last minute rearranging of luggage and then I'm off to dreamland. ¡Las botas rojas van a España!
