Well I have finally had a chance to sit down and blog. Sorry it has taken so long, things have been so crazy since I came on island. I have a lot to tell you about that's happened over the last 5 weeks.
Leaving home was much harder than I could have ever imagined. Walking out of the house that morning, telling my cats goodbye just about killed me. I am still full of guilt for leaving them. My mom, brother and step dad took me to the airport that morning. It was nice to have some support there especially for my mom. I had a slight packing disaster the night before and of course my luggage was too heavy so I had to rearrange and even send stuff back home with my mom. We had a few minutes to sit down and talk before I had to go through security. Then mom starts crying, I just about died. Seeing mom cry, no matter what it is, just kills me. I finally had to say goodby. As I am walking to security and waving my last goodbyes, I begin to think "oh my word, what have I done." As we are boarding the plane, it still seems like I'm just going on a little vacation and coming home. I don't think it really hit me yet. I sat next to a nice lady who was asking me where I was going. I told her where and my story and she was so supportive for just meeting me. She said she would pray for me and said some encouraging words. My plane finally lands in Grand Cayman and I am still in a daze. This is really happening...aaahhh!!
My realtor picked me up from the airport and took me to get settled in my place. He even took me to the grocery store, which was so nice. After I finally get to bed the first night and wake up the next morning, I was ready to pack up and go right back home. I had no idea what I had just done. What in the world was I thinking?? I just left everything and everyone I loved to come to this island by myelf?? I must be crazy!! I cried everyday my first week of being here. I started my new job on September 8 and I really do love it. I work with some great people and without them, I probably would have already left. It has been a big change working in such a small hospital but we do keep busy. I am doing x-ray and CT and will be training to do mammograms soon. I'm pretty excited about that. I couldn't have asked for a better start to a new job.
I still don't have a car so I haven't been able to get out and about much unless someone is taking me but I hate asking for anything..lol I was able to go to a couple of restaurants, the beach to snorkel, rock and roll bingo was a blast. I am hoping to get a car in the next month or so then I can have some more adventures. I did get invited out on a boat last weekend to go to Rum Point. Rum Point is this gorgeous spot on the island where everyone goes on Sundays to park their boats and party. The water is only up to your waist so it's nice to just float around. We even had a stingray come right up to us!! My boss took me to the humane society last saturday and that's where I fell in love with my new baby Sammy. There are so many animals here on the island that need homes. I want to go volunteer at the humane society once I get a car.
I have met some really nice people in just the short time I have been here. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Walking to work everyday and working in teh hospital gives me many opportunities to meet people.
Moving here has definitely been a life changing experience for me. I am still struggling with guilt from leaving my cats and being homesick. I skype a lot with my family and friends and whatsapp has been great for me to communicate through texting. I am hoping I get some visitors soon!
I hope you all continue to follow my adventure. I promise I will be updating more regularly now since I have internet at home...YAYE!!!!

Lady Besides separating from family & your kitties, it sounds like an awesome adventure thus far. I guess I didn't think about how hard the drop off at the airport would be
