Finally arrive in Chiang Mai... What an experience we had on the bus from hell.
The woman says that Spicy Thai is to far to travel for the night so she shows us where to stay for the night.. in SK House...
Go out for munchies and stumble on the night market... Purchased some lovely Thai pants and some purses that will do nicely for presents =)
Get back to our little home for the night only to find a cochroache in the bathroom... think that Law's very loud scream woke up a very angry next room neighbour... They we not happy, but we made our apologies and made for the reception to change rooms but lieing about the fact it was because of a creepy crawly and pretended that we wanted air con instead...
Finally after a very long and tiredful day, our heads finally hit the pillows of our nice clean new room....
Over the next few days we move hostels, we stay in a room that looks more like a prison room than a hostel, but when we finally arrive at Spicy Thai we feel like were home...
It so relaxing here, the only downfall is there is no pool!!!
Walked down to OLD TOWN! only to relax, get bamboo mats, lay down in the park and bake ourselves silly... got so HOT that jumping into the murky lake seemed like a very good idea at the time...
Go on a tour to visit the eLePhAnTs, tReK, wAtErFaLl and wHiTe WaTeR rAfT...
We got to feed the elephants that we would be riding some bananas but it was scary when we were high up on a platform and the trunks of a elephant come towards your legs, you think that your about to get taken out!!! So we let the other with us feed our nellies...
The ride was Uh-MaZiNg, you really move everywhere when your ontop of an elephant...
Treked through what seemed like the amazon to get to the most Uh-MaZiNg Waterfall... after all the hard work we put into getting there we were finally allowed to relax and play in the lushious water... you felt like you were getting a back massage from the power the waterfall gave...
As usual our luck made sure that it rained on the walk back down the mini mountain so we got drenched... but as we were going white water rafting didn't mind too much... but then came the thunder and lightening so was a little scary to think that we were heading into the already very powerful water... we were grouped with 3 boys from Essex Ross, Lewis and Sean... We were the only group that had no-one go over board...wahooo.. was so much fun!!!
Got to go to the Night Bazar which was very interesting...Lots and lots of little stalls with nearly all the same merchandise, but different in their own way... Got to try more of Thai food, steadly getting use to the spice and heat in all the food...
Getting a TUK TUK to see the TIGERS was one of my favourite experiences... we got to go in the cages and be with them... Jen to begin with was scared to go in, but turned out to be braver than me and really getting into sitting next to them without being afraid...impressive... The 3 month old tiger were so much fun, all they wanted to do was play with you, but you could see their claws so made sure didn't get to friendly with them... would love to have one as a pet...
Went to see a real Thai Boxing match for our last night in Chiang Mai with Austin and Katie... was funny to watch them fight, it seemed more like they were dancing than actual fighting...
Packed early Saturday 3/09/2011 morning to leave for Pai...
