After booking our aDvEnTuRe to, Australia's Zoo home of the Crocodile Hunter at Bunk yesterday, we were really excited to get going and be there...
Awoke at the deadly hour of 6:00am to make sure that we had everything packed and ready, for our day outing...
Decided to walk to Roma Street busways, but as usual took a bit longer than expected and we ended up running to make it to our stop...as when we arrived everyone was still lining up to get on the super coach, that was Greyhound!!!
Watched the cute film Finding Nemo on the way there to keep us from falling back asleep...
As soon as we arrived we headed straight for the food and drinks section so we could get our hit of caffine, so we could then run riot around the zoo and not be dragging behind!!!
We got to see the most UH-MAZING things... to start off with we saw a few crocodiles whilst having our morning coffee, followed by the koolas but had to hurry as at 10:00am they were feeding the tortoises and we didn't want to miss that...
The tortoises looked soft when you got up close to them with their skin resembling soft leather but with a very very hard shell... The staff member told us that the two we were seeing, were both boys and were about 30years old so still really young!
We moved on around the zoo looking at turtles, and more koolas... Saw the farm yard animals, sheep, goats and pigs on our way to the crocoseum...
So excited to see the crocodiles we entred the CROCOSEUM early to get good seats to see Charlie the Croc... Turned out to be a very hot day a sat baking under the sun whilst watching the show... Saw lots of different kinds of birds, snakes and why we were in the crocoseum Charlie the Croc...
Steve Irwins Family were there to do the show so we got to see Terry, Bindi and Robert which was a bonus...
The show was UH-MAZING... we watched as they fed Charlie a dead PIG and put on a show as though it was alive so Charlie would react to killing it as though it was in the wild!!! We waited, and we waited, and we waited some more, moved into a seating area shaded from the sun, then finally when we were about to leave Charlie the Croc started snapping and rolling around with the PIG and started to thrash it into the water to break it into smaller pieces to eat...yummy yum yum...
After that UH-MAZING show we got to see them feeding the Koolas... we got to stroke their backs which was so soft... they were adorable...
We moved on into ROO Heaven where a photographer gave us some food to feed the Kangaroos with and for her to take some photo's of us... The we so friendly they just came up to you and put their little claws on your hand whilst they ate... it was like a tickling sensation on your hand...very very cute!!!
Saw Wallabies, Echidnas, Red Kangaroos, Wombats, Rainforest Aviary and Birds of Prey...
Rode the shuttle bus to Africa section where we got to see Giraffes, Zebras and White Rhino's... Felt like we were in an extra for the Lion King with Pride Rock... was an over whelming feeling... walked further around into the section with the Elephants, Tigers and the Red Pandas...
After seeing all the cute animals we finally arrived to see the Snakes... we got to spy all the non venomous and venomous ones making sure we took note of the venomous so not to run into them if we go into the outback!!!
Lastly we got to see the South Asia Otter being fed before we entered the gift shop to be lost amongst all the wonderful toys and pressies we could buy...
4:45pm and we clambered back onto the coach for a nanna nap and to return home!!!
